BELLE FOURCHE, S.D. – Area athletes competed at the Center of the Nation Track and Field Meet in Belle Fourche on Saturday.
On the boys’ side, the hometeam Broncs captured two running events. Belle Fourche won the 4×100 meter relay and the medley.
Philip won the 4×200 and the 4×400 meter relay.
Rapid City Stevens swept the hurdles with Blake Swanson winning the 110 meters and Eiden Perrigo winning the 200 meters.
Peyton Cast of Douglas won the 3,200 meter run and Moses Loftus of Stevens won the 800 meters. Jet Janvrin of Rapid City Central captured the 200 meters.
In boys’ field events, Lincoln Koen of Kadoka won the shot put and the discus throw.
Levin Brant of Sturgis won the javelin and his teammate Manny Jaramillo won the pole vault.
Hill City’s Noah Schelske won the long jump and his teammate Nick Schroeder won the triple jump.
On the girls’ side, Sophia Guge of Rapid City Stevens won the 100 meters and fellow Raider Bailey Holland won the 200 meters. Leah Davis of Douglas won the 400 meters and Raider Jocee Krebs won the 800. Two Douglas Patriots won the long distance runs with Isabel Rios winning the 1,600 and Kira Ubence winning the 3,200 meters.
In the hurdles, Patriot Ashlyn Blasius won the 100 meters and Atty Eastman of Lead-Deadwood won the 300 meters.
In the relay races, Rapid City Stevens won the 4×100 meters, Custer captured the 4×800, and Douglas won the medley relay.
In field events, Kayla Dilka of Rapid City Christian won the shot put and Kadoka’s Landyn Koehn edges out Dilka in the discus throw.
TyAnn Mortensen of Faith won the javelin with Sturgis’ Leigha Long finishing second.
Danica Dschaak of Sturgis won the high jump with Hill City’s Alaina Dean winning the long jump. Sarah Erk of Newell won the triple jump. Winning the girls’ pole vault was Ciana Stiefel of Custer.
