UNDATED – Semifinal rounds were completed at the South Dakota State Boys’ Basketball Tournament Friday night.
At the State AA Tournament in Rapid City, Yankton pulled the upset, and downed top seeded Sioux Falls Jefferson 69-66.
The Bucks jumped out to a ten point lead in the first quarter, but Jefferson would battle back and send the game to overtime.
In the extra period, the Bucks would outscore Jefferson 14-11 to get the win. Rugby Ryken led Yankton with 24 points.
The Bucks will play Mitchell, who beat Sioux Falls Lincoln 61-59 for the championship.
At the State A tournament, Dakota Valley beat Hamlin 77-63 and Sioux Falls Christian rolled over Elk Point-Jefferson 75-51 to set up a Dakota Valley and Sioux Falls Christian championship.
And, at the State B Tournament, Lower Brule will meet DeSmet for the championship. Lower Brule defeated White River 57-49 and DeSmet downed Aberdeen Christian 46-31.
