RAPID CITY, S.D. – The Charolais breed was on display Tuesday at the Black Hills Show as the annual show and sale was held.
There were five separate categories up for auction this year.
There were 10 fall bulls that went through the sale ring, with the top selling bull fetching $15,000. The ten bulls brought an average of $6,400 and the grand total was $64,000.
There were 18 yearling bulls, selling at an average price of $4,791.67. The top selling yearling bull sold for $13,000. In total, the yearling’s brought in $86,250.
In the two-year-old bull category, the top selling bull brought $7,000. The nine bulls sold brought in an average of $4,694 for a grand total of $42,250.
In the heifers, 3 bred heifers sold for a total of $11,750 and 3 registered heifers sold for a grand total of $16,700.
In total, Charolais Day brought in nearly $221,000.
