Child struck by vehicle Tuesday afternoon in RC

RAPID CITY, S.D. – Rapid City Police were investigating a hit and run involving a pedestrian child Tuesday.

Police say shortly after 12:30 p.m., they were dispatched to the unit block of E. Signal Drive for a report of a vehicle that struck a child in the area.

The vehicle then came to a stop and the suspect driver fled on foot.

One individual had been detained and the child was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police were investigating the incident.
