STURGIS, S.D. – The City of Sturgis invites everyone in the Black Hills to take part in all the family-friendly holiday activities taking place in Sturgis during the month of December.
The season kicks off with the Annual Christmas Tree Lighting on December 3 from 6 until 8 PM at Harley-Davidson Rally Point in downtown Sturgis. More than just hitting a switch; we will have music, treats, a visit from Santa, and the Mayor’s reading of a classic Christmas story.
The Annual Light Parade will brighten everyone’s mood. Friday, December 4, starting at 6:00 PM. Watch from your car by parking along Junction Avenue or from the sidewalk on Main Street. Many businesses will be open so you can step inside to warm up.
December 5 will feature free Holiday Crafts at H-D Rally Point from 3 until 5 PM. Several different crafts will be available for kids and adults. Also offering free horse-drawn sleigh rides and an opportunity to visit with Santa.
For those who enjoy a good talent show, plan to attend the Variety Christmas Show at H-D Rally Point Stage on December 12th starting at 3 PM. Prizes will be awarded. To enter, visit the City of Sturgis website at https://www.sturgis-sd.gov/SturgisfortheHolidays-2020Events.
Scrooge Night on December 17 will have businesses staying open late and offering specials to accommodate holiday shoppers.
Don your best Ugly Sweater for a chance to win prizes on December 19 at 5 PM at the H-D Rally Point Stage. The Holiday Lights Booze ‘N’ Cruise will pick up passengers for a free light tour every 30 minutes from 5 until 8 PM. Donations are encouraged.
Free Holiday Light Tour maps will be available at the Sturgis Chamber starting December 14.
Free holiday movies will be shown at the Sturgis Community Center on Friday nights and Saturday afternoons all month. Visit the City website for a schedule & times.
Two Hometown Christmas Markets (920 H-D Way and 1032 Main Street) will be open every Friday from 5 until 8, Saturdays from 10 AM until 6 PM, and Sundays from noon until 4. These Markets feature 50 Local vendors offering a large selection of merchandise. Register for door prizes!
