City of Sturgis partners with Monument Health to offer COVID-19 test kits during rally

STURGIS, S.D. — The city of Sturgis says to slow the spread of COVID-19 during the Motorcycle Rally, the South Dakota Department of Health and Monument Health will provide COVID-19 self-test kits.

The QuickVue At-Home self-test kits are free and will be available for distribution in the City of Sturgis and other locations in the Black Hills to individuals who feel they may have been exposed to the COVID-19 virus or feel they are exhibiting possible symptoms.

To receive a test kit, call Sturgis City Hall at (605) 347-4422 ext. 1 Monday through Thursday 7:00 a.m. to 6 p.m. You will need to provide a name and physical location within the city. A city employee will deliver a test kit to your site.

No prescription is necessary and can be used at home. Results are available within 15 minutes of taking the test. Any individuals who test positive for COVID-19 should self-isolate and seek follow-up care with their physician or healthcare provider as additional testing may be necessary for public health reporting.

Kits will be available for as long as supplies last.
