Clara Arline (Moos) Metzger

Clara Arline (Moos) Metzger went to be with the Lord Jesus on Sunday, May 19, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones following a recent health condition.

Clara was born to Christ and Katie (Wagner) Moos on September 30, 1941, in Morton County, North Dakota, with her 7 siblings where she attended school and graduated in 1959. She married Levi Metzger on September 25, 1959. They had 5 children and raised their family in Lead, SD.

Clara later lived in the Sioux Falls, SD, area for several years before returning to Rapid City.

She would start her days with devotions and reading her bible. She was very active in the churches she attended, enjoyed gardening doing puzzles, embroidery, and loved animals. She had a special bond with her puppy Beau. The last few years she took great pride in making sure the yard of the assisted living facility was clear of all dandelions.

She is a survived by her children: Sharon (Norm ) Mason, Summerset, SD, Barbara (Doyle) Shaff, Brandon, SD, Audrey (Alex) Aguilar, Denver, CO, and Dale (Jamee) Metzger, Sequim, WA; grandchildren: Thad, Amber, Anthony, Ashley, Kolby, Isaac, Carlos, Shanice, Skyler, Melissa, Vanessa, Braydon, and Dalton; great-grandchildren: Jackson, Talon, Brooklyn, Madison, Analia, Ryan, Elena, Marcus, and Alexander; sister: Verla; brother: Irvin; and many nieces, and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Christ and Katie Moos, son, Jeffrey Metzger, brother, Harry, sisters, Helen, Lorraine, Elma, and Deloris.

Celebration of life service will be 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 16, 2024, at the Christian Ministry Center 7 S. Main Street, Lead, SD.
