RAPID CITY, SD – The Sturgis Scoopers dropped their final match of the volleyball season to the Rapid City Central Cobblers at Naasz Gym in five sets.
The Cobblers won set one, 25-21, then lost set two to the Scoopers, 25-23. Central won set three, 25-23 but lost set four to Sturgis, 25-20. The Cobblers held off the Scoopers in the deciding fifth set, 15-11 to win the match.
Rapid City Central improves to 6-24 on the year and were by Caylea Schartz with nine kills and three blocks.
Scooper Senior Norah Iverson was stellar in her final match, collecting 12 kills and seven blocks. Emmie Sargent scored 13 kills, two assists and one block. Sturgis wraps up their season with five wins and 26 losses.
”We grew a lot this season, there were some ups and downs for sure,” said Scooper head coach Timmi Lewis. “Overall, talent-wise we grew, leadership we grew, so I’m super excited to see what we take into next season with all these players we have returning.”
