College Basketball Roundup – Western Illinois defeats SDSU, Mines’ falls to Chadron St

MACOMB, Ill. — Trenton Massner’s 30 points led Western Illinois over South Dakota State 81-73 in overtime.

The score was tied at 69 for the last 1:28 of regulation then the Leathernecks outscored the Jackrabbits 12-4 in overtime.

Massner also added nine rebounds and eight assists for the Leathernecks. Alec Rosner added 16 points and Quinlan Bennett scored 10.

Zeke Mayo finished with 27 points and six assists for the Jackrabbits.

In other college basketball action:

ST. PAUL, Minn. — Led by Tasos Kamateros’ 20 points, the South Dakota Coyotes defeated the Saint Thomas Tommies 81-67. The Coyotes are now 10-12 on the season, while the Tommies fell to 14-10.

RAPID CITY, S.D. – The South Dakota Mines men’s basketball team took on Chadron State on Saturday. It was a tight battle between the two rivals, but the Hardrockers were unable to pull it out, falling 70-67.

In the women’s game:

The South Dakota Mines women’s basketball hosted the Chadron State College Eagles on Saturday night at the King Center. The Eagles came away with the victory 67-60 over the Hardrockers.
