LAS VEGAS, N.M. —South Dakota Mines led by Brevin Walter used an early surge in the second half and held on late to gain the victory over New Mexico Highlands, 88-83.
Brevin Walker led the Hardrockers with 30 points.
Meanwhile, the South Dakota Mines women kept the game close for three quarters, before a 15-0 stretch pushed by Piper Bauer scoring 13 in the final frame pushed the Hardrocker lead to 62-46, eventually leading to victory, 71-54.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — Baylor Scheierman had 25 points as South Dakota State won its 18th straight game, topping Kansas City 86-75. Josiah Allick led the Roos on Saturday night with 21 points, tying his season high.
