RENO, Nev. — Carson Strong threw his fourth touchdown pass, a nine-yarder to Romeo Doubs in overtime as Nevada beat Wyoming 37-34 in the Mountain West Conference and season openers for both teams.
Strong was 39-of-52 passing for 420 yards. Cole Turner had seven receptions for 119 yards with two touchdowns. Doubs finished with 12 catches for 117 yards.
Levi Williams led the Cowboys on three consecutive scoring drives, including a 21-yard TD pass Gunner Gentry as Wyoming tied it at 28. John Hoyland made four field goals for Wyoming, including a 42-yarder with 23 seconds remaining and a 38-yarder in overtime.

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – The defense set the tone for the day as the South Dakota Mines football team earned its first-ever win over Colorado Mesa in dominate fashion, 24-9, Saturday afternoon in Grand Junction, Colorado.
Spencer Zur got the start at quarterback on Saturday for South Dakota Mines, completing 16-23 passes for 178 yards, and one interception. He also rushed the ball 10 times for 59 yards.
Lewis led the ground attack rushing for 85 yards on 30 carries and two scores.
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Joe Milton accounted for two touchdowns in an unflappable debut at quarterback for No. 18 Michigan, and the Wolverines trampled No. 21 Minnesota with 256 rushing yards in a 49-24 victory to open the virus-delayed season.
Zach Charbonnet ran for a 70-yard score in the first quarter to set the tone for Michigan’s dominance on offense, one of five rushing touchdowns.
Donovan Jeter followed by scoring on a 15-yard scoop of an airborne fumble forced by a blitzing Michael Barrett, one of five sacks by the Wolverines.
Mohamed Ibrahim rushed for 140 yards and two touchdowns for the Gophers.
COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Quarterback Justin Fields completed 20 of 21 passes for two touchdowns and ran for another as No. 5 Ohio State rolled over Nebraska 52-17.
The Buckeyes dominated the Huskers in the second half in the Big Ten teams’ pandemic-delayed opener.. Running back Master Teague II also ran for two touchdowns as Ohio State piled up 498 yards of offense.
The Ohio State defense took most of the first half to figure out a way to contain slippery Cornhuskers quarterback Adrian Martinez, who marched the Huskers down for a touchdown in the opening 2 minutes of the game.
