Constance “Connie” Ford

Our beloved daughter and sister, Constance “Connie” Ford, so sweet and genuine, passed away on February 20, 2024, at the age of 50. She fought long and hard, enjoying the little things in life as they should be. Her family meant the most to her, and throughout her life, those who she met as friends soon became family.

Connie was born in Deadwood, SD, on November 4, 1973 to Patricia McKenzie (Ford) and Tom Miller. She grew up in a loving home with her mother and sister, Tammie, with support of numerous family and friends. There was not a person in this world she would not happily help …. unless, of course, a spider or snake was involved! At the age of 17, Connie was admitted to the hospital and diagnosed with diabetes. She lived with her Mom for a large part of her life and the bond they created was truly unbreakable. She valued relationships such as this deeper than most. The nights of watching WWE will always be one of their fondest and most cherished memories. She loved animals passionately, and enjoyed the time she was able to spend with them as she crocheted or read one of many books. The diabetes took so much from her, but she fought hard and made the most of each day. Our biggest hope is that she is free of all her pain and is genuinely happy.

We would like to send a special thank you to the Kadoka Nursing Home Director, staff and residents. Connie created a second family with all the people she met there, both staff and residents. Getting to see the joy on her face for all of the fun things she got to do and see each day is immeasurable to our family.

Connie was preceded in death by her father, Tom Miller, and grandparents, Bob and Bertha Ford.

She leaves behind her mother, Patricia McKenzie; sister, Tammie McKenzie (Mike, Devan, and Kadence), Tina Marie-Gleason (Cohen), Tara Norris; and brother, Scott (Shari) Miller (Lexi, Dylan, and Austin), as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the American Diabetes Association.

A memorial service will be held Friday, March 8, 2024, 1:00 p.m. at Kinkade Funeral Chapel, Sturgis, SD.

Condolences may be sent to the family at www.kinkadefunerals.com.
