PIERRE, S.D. – South Dakota’s Health Department reported 21 new cases of COVID-19 in its Wednesday report – raising the state’s total to 129. Furthermore the state recorded its second death in relation to the virus.
The death was reported in Beadle County.
Along with Beadle County, Minnehaha County continues to be the hardest hit area, seeing its total go from 31 to 40. Beadle County has 21 total with 12 fully recovered. Eleven people have recovered from the virus in Minnehaha.
In Western South Dakota, numbers remained stable. Lawrence County has 6 and Pennington has 5. Meade County still reports one as does Fall River County.
Of the six cases in Lawrence County, two have fully recovered and in Pennington County, one has fully recovered. The Meade County case has also fully recovered.
Statewide, 51 people have fully recovered, leaving 78 active cases.
There have been 3,903 negative tests for the virus.
