COVID-19 report shows more hospitalizations

PIERRE, SD – South Dakota health officials reported 411 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 Friday, September 3.  There was an additional 74 new probable cases.

Active cases increased by 282 to 5,970.  The number of hospitalizations also increased  by 12 to 230.

One new death was reported bringing the state’s death toll to 2,072.

Across the Black Hills Region, Pennington County reported 116 new cases.  Total active cases in the county are 1,644.

Meade County added 42 new cases and 600 active total.  Lawrence County has 34 new cases and 420 active cases.

In Butte County, 28 new cases and 242 active cases.

Elsewhere around the region, Custer County reported 4 new cases and 96 active, Fall River added three new cases with 76 active total, Oglala Lakota listed one new case and 36 active and Harding County had two new cases and 22 active.

Monument Health reported 103 people hospitalized with COVID-19.
