Creek Fire in northeast Wyoming grows to 500 acres

HULETT, Wyo. – Fire crews say the Creek Fire has grown to around 500 acres.

The fire burning north of Hulett in Northeast Wyoming was initially reported on Tuesday and jumped from 150 acres to 500 during the day Wednesday.

The fire is now eligible for a Type 3 fire team, which will take over fire operations today.

There has been no word as of yet on the status or the amount of containment on the fire and its cause is under investigation, although there were thunderstorms with lightning that moved over the area Tuesday.

HULETT, Wyo. – Fire crews in northeast Wyoming are battling a 100-plus acre wildfire in Crook County.

The Creek Fire was reported Tuesday afternoon about 6 miles north of Seely, Wyoming. That is located off Highway 212 north of Hulett.

At last report, the fire had burned approximately 150 acres. The cause of the fire was unknown and there was no containment information.

Another fire was reported west of Aladdin. The North Fork Fire was about 4 acres and was listed as controlled Wednesday morning.

Across the border, fire crews were sent to a fire in Lawrence County Tuesday evening. The Crusher Hill Fire burned approximately .6 acres according to Great Plains Fire Dispatch.
