WINNER, S.D. – Dakota Valley captured the team title at the Winner Invitational Competitive Cheer competition Saturday.
The Panthers finished with 213.5 points.
The home team Winner Warriors were second with 204.5 and Faulkton was third with 195 points.
Sturgis finished in sixth with 183, a point and a half behind Belle Fourche in fifth.
Sturgis head coach Brooke Passolt says “Sturgis cheer continues to raise their average score and I am super proud of them for that!”
In the dance competition, Dakota Valley won the Jazz competition with 266 points. Sturgis placed second.
In the Hip Hop category, Winner placed first with 222.5 and in the Pom Category, Dakota Valley captured first with 260 points. Winner was second in the Pom with Sturgis capturing third.
