Dan Waisanen

Dan Waisanen, a beloved brother, uncle, cousin, and friend, passed away peacefully at his home in Deadwood on July 14, 2024, at the age of 61.

Born in 1963, Dan lived a life full of love, laughter, and adventure, making lifelong friends at every job he held. He started his career as a cook, became a core driller for gold, worked in construction, and found his passion making pasties at Lou Lou’s Bombdiggitys in Deadwood, where he was known as “Mr. Bombdiggity.”

Dan cherished his family deeply, especially his nieces and nephews, and had a special bond with his favorite dog, Charlie. An avid Harley rider and skilled in auto body work, Dan enjoyed playing Cribbage with his cousin, Ray and had a fondness for chickens.

Survived by his siblings Jim (Monica), Connie Green, Cindy James (Todd), and Victor.

Dan will be remembered for his big heart and gentle nature. Rest in peace, Dan. You will be deeply missed and forever in our hearts.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Manuel Brothers Park in Lead, SD on Saturday, July 20, 2024 from 6pm – 8pm.
