Daniel Paul Wegner

Daniel Paul Wegner was born on May 10th, 1962, to Carol Cook and Paul Wegner in Rochester, Minnesota.  Danny’s early childhood was spent on a farm in Hurley, South Dakota.  In 1971, his family moved to Yankton, South Dakota where he attended school.  He served our country in the United States Army from 1982 to 1988.  After his service in the military, he moved to Rapid City, South Dakota. Danny began work at Scull Construction in 1990 as a carpenter. In 1997, he became a Vice President with the company. In 2007, he became a partner with the company, where he remained until his retirement in 2018. Danny could be described as a dedicated, personable, and hard-working individual who was an important part of the Rapid City community.

In 1988, his first son, Ryan, was born; followed by Jacob in 1989 and Adam in 1993.  They were the joy of his life.  He was a dedicated father who passed down his passion for the outdoors.  As a family, they spent many hours in the outdoors going camping, hunting, and fishing.  Danny traveled the world in pursuit of what he loved to do outdoors. Danny’s most loved memories were made hunting pheasants with his boys.  Danny was also very involved in his boys’ sports as they grew up and was proud of their achievements. Danny was loved by many friends for his big heart and quick wit.  Where Danny was, laughter followed.

After many successful years in Rapid City, South Dakota, Danny retired in Texas where he met his loving partner, best friend, and wife, Bricy. They were united in marriage on August 6, 2022, and were loving and enjoying life in Tomball, Texas.  Danny continued his hunting expeditions, woodworking projects and had recently completed the inspection course to become a state certified building inspector.

Sadly, Danny, 61, of Tomball, Texas, passed away after a brief acute illness on Sunday, December 24th, 2023.

Danny is survived by his wife, Bricy Wegner of Tomball, Texas; his children, Ryan (Emily) Wegner, Jacob Wegner, and Adam (Hanah) Wegner all of Rapid City, South Dakota; two step children, Amanda Casas and Laura Casas of Tomball, Texas; three grandchildren, Grady Wegner, Emory Wegner and Jaxon Wegner; one brother Alvy (Connie) Cook of Las Vegas, Nevada; and three sisters Debra (Rick) Fleming of Omaha, Nebraska, Cathy (Jon) Robinson of Denver, Colorado, and Joni (Brian) Owen of Fargo, North Dakota.  Danny was also loved by many nieces and nephews.
