Darlene Hagan

Darlene Hagan was born February 25, 1933 at her parents homestead three miles west of Nowlin, SD to Merle and Borghild Jarman. She grew up and received her education at Nowlin School until 8th grade, and then attended Midland High school graduating in 1952.

Darlene married Clair (Dick) Hagan January 30, 1954 in Midland SD.
Darlene was married to Clair (Dick) Hagan. To this union they had a wonderful daughter Barbara (Hagan) Swane.
Darlene and Clair (Dick) moved to Tilford, SD in 1966 where she they milk cows right alongside of her loving husband. After they quit milking cows Darlene and Clair (Dick) ranched right alongside her husband for the rest of her life.
Darlene was a hard-working woman spend many hours milking cows and then going to the field also she enjoyed planting and working in the garden. Darlene loved her family and her animals. She would always be in the kitchen making food and desserts getting ready for brandings and working cows.

Darlene Hagan, 91, of Tilford SD, died at home Monday September 30, 2024.

Darlene is survived by her husband Clair (Dick) Hagan, daughter, Barbara (David) Swane; four grandkids Dean Szymanski, John (Krista) Szymanski, Jerry (Rachel) Swane, Kristin Swane; six great-grandkids Kaycee (Tyler) Zuschlag, Thristine & Winter & Andre Lapointe, Brayden & Kinsley Swane.

Darlene was preceded in death by her father Merle mom Borghild her brother Dale and his wife Joycee Jarman, sister Jannene Bach and daughter Janet Hagan.

Services will be held at 10:30 on Thursday, October 3, 2024 at the Divine Shepherd Lutheran Church in Black Hawk, South Dakota, with a visitation one hour prior. The internment will take place at Black Hills National Cemetery following the service. A luncheon will be held at the Divine Shepherd Lutheran Church following the burial.
