DEADWOOD, S.D. – According to statistics released this week by the South Dakota Commission on Gaming, Deadwood’s June 2022 gaming handle was down 1.61 percent over June of 2021, with slot machine handle decreasing by 1.47 percent, when compared to June of 2021.
The table game handle decreased by 8.28 percent when compared to 2021 June’s table game handle.
Deadwood’s sports wagering was almost identical to wager action in May.
Deadwood gaming operators rewarded players with $1,443,532 in “free-play” for the month of June, leaving taxable adjusted gross revenues of $11,701,557 for June of 2022.
“While June’s numbers were down slightly, we are comparing them to a 20.88 percent increase in June of 2021,” said Mike Rodman, executive director of the Deadwood Gaming Association. “Visitation to Deadwood still remains historically strong.”
