DEADWOOD, S.D. – Deadwood police say they responded to a report of a female subject whom had sustained major injuries at the Deadwood Lodge early Monday morning.
Police say they responded to the Lodge at approximately 5:42 a.m. where they located the female subject.
An on-scene investigation led to a large Law Enforcement presence in the area.
The investigation led to the arrest of a male subject for two counts of abused and neglected child, aggravated assault domestic violence, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and two counts of felony simple assault domestic violence.
While police did not release any further details, they did say there is no threat to the Public.
The female party and children are safe.
In a social media post, The Deadwood Police Department stated “they would like to thank Lead Police Department, Sturgis Police Department, South Dakota Highway Patrol, Meade County Sheriff’s Office and the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance in this matter.”
