DEADWOOD, S.D. — Deadwood Police are investigating an unattended death.
Authorities were alerted to a body lying in a creek near 26 Water St. slighty before 9:30 a.m. Friday morning.
Upon arrival, Deadwood Police officers discovered a deceased man, identified as a 66-year-old resident of Pennington County.
Preliminary investigations have not revealed any indications of foul play. However, both the Deadwood Police Department and the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office are continuing their investigation into the incident.
The name of the deceased has not been released yet pending family notifications.
