Debra Jean Price, 66, passed away January 26, 2025, under hospice care at Avantara Mountain View Nursing Home in Rapid City.
Deb was born on May 31, 1958, in Belle Fourche, South Dakota to Wesley and Evelyn (Linton) Richardson. Growing up Deb lived in Great Falls, Montana, Lead, SD and then to the Newell area. She married Maynard “Butch” Price in January of 1978 and together they were blessed with three children, Danelle, Brandi, and TJ.
She lived in Sturgis the majority of her adult life and over the years she worked as a fry cook, waitress, and a casino attendant. She retired in 2006 due to illness. Deb enjoyed crocheting and bowling, but her favorite was spending time with her children, grandchildren, and her dog, Benji.
Deb had an infectious smile and everyone who met her loved her. She thought she was a comedian and always had people laughing. Deb had something about her that made everybody in the room happy to see her. She constantly worried about her children. Even as adults she would drive them crazy constantly checking in on them. Deb will be remembered for her strong, loving, and funny attitude. Her strength, humor and that infectious smile will be greatly missed.
Her memory will be cherished by her children, Danelle Price, Brandi (Tom) Griffee, and TJ (Brittney) Price; grandchildren, Savannah (Nathan) Berg, Aubrey Kimball, Lillian Vyskocil, Violet Vyskocil, Thomas (Elyssa) Griffee, Johnny (Tehya) Griffee, Jaydon (Jamie) Griffee, Jagger Price, Aliyah Price, Harriet Price, Seren Bueno and Lathan Bueno; great grandchildren, Kaylee, Bentley, Molleigh, Eleanor, Henry, Arlo, Jeremy and Oliver; her dog, Benji; brothers, Doug Richardson and Randy Richardson; sister, Tracy (Rod) Ingalls; extended family, Amber Neyhart and Nancy Synhorst; her best friend, Peggy Wamsher; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Wes and Evelyn Richardson; brothers, Rick Richardson and Mike Richardson; nephew, Ryan Ingalls; and her parents in law, Harriet and Maynard Price.
A memorial service will be held at 2 pm, Sunday, February 2, 2025, at Black Hills Funeral Home. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
