Department of Health goes back to M-F, daily reporting of COVID-19 cases

RAPID CITY, S.D. – The rise in new COVID-19 cases is leading the Department of Health to once again issue daily reports during the weekday, or Monday through Friday.

Secretary of Health Kim Malsam-Rysdon announced the change on Twitter on Thursday, along with the latest dashboard.

In today’s report, health officials reported 153 new cases with 19 of those listed as probable.

Active cases were up 61 to 1,210 and the number of people hospitalized increased by one to 76.

No new deaths were reported, keeping the state’s death toll at 2,051.

Across the Black Hills, Pennington County added 31 confirmed cases and one probable over the past 24 hours.

Meade County had 5 confirmed and one probable.

Lawrence County reported 4 new cases, as did Custer County.

Three new cases were reported in Fall River and Butte County added one new case.
