PIERRE, S.D. – The South Dakota Department of Health reported 102 new cases of COVID-19 Wednesday and one new death.
The new death was a woman listed in the age range 60-69 and in Lyman County.
The bulk of the new cases were in eastern South Dakota, although Pennington County saw 12 new cases sending their cumulative total to 910. The number of active cases in Pennington is up two today to 114.
Meade and Lawrence County each reported one new cases, but both counties saw their active number of cases decrease. Meade County’s active caseload is down one to 22 and Lawrence county’s active number of cases is also down one to 29.
Butte and Custer Counties, who reported no new cases today, have also seen their active cases drop. Butte has 6 active cases, down two from Tuesday and Custer County has 10 active cases, also down 2 from Tuesday.
The statewide number of active cases was up two today to 1,062.
The number of people hospitalized Wednesday is 59 – up two from Tuesday.
