PIERRE, S.D. – State health officials report 187 new cases of COVID-19 in their Monday report, with 52 of them listed as probable.
The Monday report covers two days with no report issued on Sunday. The Department of Health says they reports will cover Monday through Saturday and they will no longer issue a Sunday report.
Active cases today total 2,425. That is up 12 from yesterday.
The number of people hospitalized due to the virus was down six Monday to 96.
One new death was included in the report, sending the state’s death toll to 1,947 since the pandemic began.
Across the Black Hills area, 8 new cases were reported. They included 5 in Pennington County and one new case each in Lawrence, Meade and Fall River.
There were 765 new persons tested in the data reported on Monday for a new persons-tested positivity rate of 24.4%.
