PIERRE, S.D. – The South Dakota Department of Health recorded 33 new cases of COVID-19 in their Tuesday report.
The new cases pushed the cumulative total in the state to 5,067, however the number of active cases saw a decrease today. Health officials say active cases tumbled from 1,069 yesterday to 1,015 today.
In the Black Hills region, Pennington County recorded 6 new cases. That sends the county cumulative total to 241 with 172 active cases.
Meade County added one additional new case for a cumulative total of 22 and 16 active cases.
Fall River reported a new case today. The county now has 2 active cases with 5 cumulative.
Other case numbers across the state today include 7 in Minnehaha, 6 in Brown, 3 in Buffalo and one each in Beadle, Brookings, Charles Mix, Dewey, Hutchinson, Kingsbury, Lincoln, Todd and Turner.
The number of people hospitalized for COVID-19 in the state was 89 today; up two from Monday.
