Department of Health reports 37 new COVID-19 cases in Monday report

PIERRE, S.D. – The South Dakota Department of Health reported 37 new cases of COVID-19 in its Monday report.

As of today, there are 817 active cases with a cumulative total of 2,668.

There were no new positive tests in the Black Hills area today. The case breakdown was 28 in Minnehaha, 6 in Brown and one each in Codington, Lincoln and Union counties.

1,830 people have recovered from the illness in the state; that’s up 31 from Sunday. 69 patients are currently hospitalized.

21 people have died from COVID-19 so far in South Dakota.
