PIERRE, S.D. – The Department of Health reported 446 new cases of COVID-19 in their Monday report. The new total includes 83 probable and the new report covers numbers from Friday.
Active cases are nearing 8,000 as today’s total was 7,927. The number of people hospitalized decreased by 12 to 202.
Five new deaths were reported, sending the state’s death toll since the pandemic began to 2,105. Four of the five new deaths are out of the Black Hills area with two out of Meade County and two out of Pennington County.
Pennington County recorded 86 new cases, of which, 12 were listed as probable.
Meade County had 17 new cases and Lawrence County had 19. Among the new cases, 3 were probable in Lawrence and one was probable in Meade County.
Butte County reported 8 new cases, Oglala Lakota added 6, Custer reported 3, Fall River County had 2 and Harding County reported a new case.
