STURGIS, S.D. – The Meade 46-1 School District, along with the school nurses, have announced a generous donation of $5,000 to bring the Delta Dental Mobile Program to the district.
This donation pays for the Delta Mobile to serve students twice per year by providing dental exams and X-Rays, cleanings, fillings, sealants, fluoride varnish, and dental education.
The program includes two trucks – Molar 1 and Molar 2 – that are fully equipped mobile dental clinics that provide preventive, diagnostic, and restorative care. Delta Dental of South Dakota manages, operates and staffs the mobile trucks.
Local community agencies act as site partners to host a truck visit, and local sponsors contribute a modest stipend for the visit.
The trucks have visited 86 communities across South Dakota and provided more than $29 million in care since the program began.
