BOX ELDER, S.D. – A Box Elder man is in the Pennington County Jail after a car he was driving hit a house in Rapid City.
Rapid City Police were called to a home in the 800 block of Farlow Street, two blocks north of The Monument, at about 11 p.m. On arrival, officers found a car with two occupants with minor injuries in the front yard of the house.
No one in the house was injured.
Officers determined the car was speeding at the time of the accident and that the driver showed evidence of impairment.
They arrested the driver, 19-year-old Jacob Morgan of Box Elder, for driving under the influence, underage possession of alcohol, underage possession of tobacco, driving without a license, and driving with no proof of insurance.
In the course of the investigation, they determined the car had just been stolen from a business in the 300 block of Omaha Street. He’s being held without bond in the Pennington County Jail until his initial court appearance.
