Driver suffers minor injuries after truck rollover at Sturgis

STURGIS, S.D. – A 56-year-old male escaped serious injuries after rolling his semi truck and trailer on I-90 at Sturgis Tuesday morning.

The South Dakota Highway Patrol says the 2002 Peterbilt was traveling eastbound when it failed to negotiate a curve and left the roadway at mile marker 31. The truck and trailer went into the south ditch and rolled.

Spokesman Tony Mangan says bags of bentonite fell off the trailer and resulted in the closure of the outside lane for a time.

The  driver was wearing a seat belt and was treated for minor injuries at the scene.
