DUI incidents keep Meade County Sheriff’s Deputies busy Tuesday

STURGIS, S.D. – The Meade County Sheriff’s Office says people driving under the influence kept them busy Tuesday.

In one call, deputies were called to a pickup in the ditch near Dyess and 224th, where the driver was attempting to free the vehicle. Officials say the driver was arrested for D.U.I.

Tuesday night,  a driver was arrested on D.U.I. after allegedly running over a natural gas line in Black Hawk. The gas line rupture required a response from Montana Dakota Utilities and the Black Hawk Fire Department. No injuries were reported.

Also Tuesday night, deputies assisted Pennington County with a vehicle pursuit that had originated in Rapid City. Road spikes were deployed on Sturgis Road near Stage Barn Road where the driver’s vehicle was disabled. The driver was arrested for D.U.I., along with other charges.

All three drivers were taken to the Meade County jail following the incidents.

The Meade County Sheriff’s Office says all suspects in these cases are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
