SPEARFISH, SD – Beginning at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, April 1 and ending in mid-October, 2025, Dakota Redi-Mix, Inc. of Black Hawk, the City of Spearfish’s contractor for the Colorado Boulevard Widening Project, will close East Colorado Boulevard to through-traffic.
The closure location will move in phases. The road will be temporarily reopened to through-traffic from July 25 through August 10, 2025 during the Sturgis Rally.
This closure is necessary to complete the widening of Colorado Boulevard from 750 feet west of Aurora Avenue to Colorado Loop.
During this closure, through-traffic on East Colorado Boulevard will be detoured to Interstate 90 between Exits 14 and 17. See the attached map showing the detour route.
