Eleven new deaths reported in Tuesday COVID-19 report

PIERRE, S.D. – South Dakota health officials reported 762 new cases of COVID-19 Tuesday with 168 of those listed under the probable category. Today’s update includes numbers from the weekend.

Active cases have decreased by 243 to 7,093 and the number of people hospitalized due to the virus has dropped by five to 239.

Eleven new COVID-19 related deaths were reported statewide, sending the state’s death toll to 2,449. One of the new deaths was out of Pennington County and another was out of Fall River County.

New cases across the Black Hills included 62 in Pennington with 14 of those listed as probable.

Meade County had 21 confirmed and 2 probable cases. Lawrence County added 14 confirmed and 3 probable.

Elsewhere, Fall River County reported 7 new cases and there were 2 new cases each in Butte, Custer and Oglala Lakota counties.
