Ellsworth Air and Space Show takes off this weekend

RAPID CITY, S.D. – The 2022 Ellsworth Air and Space Show takes off this weekend.

The U.S. Navy Blue Angels will be performing this Saturday and Sunday afternoon at 3:00 p.m.

The men and women of the Blue Angels exemplify the teamwork and dedication it takes to be among the best flight demo teams on the planet.

Shawna Diggins, the command career counselor for the Blue Angels, says to become an Angel, they go through a special program screening and an interview phase, and then once you’re hired and you complete your tour, you just go back in the regular fleet.

Meanwhile, the Ellsworth Air and Space Show will official open their gates at 9 a.m. Saturday.

Along with the Blue Angels, there are plenty of other exciting activities going on.

They include flyovers by a B-25, a B-52H Stratofortress, an ACEMAKER T-33 Teaser and much more.

The 2022 Air Show will also feature many impressive STEAM (Science, technology, engineering, art, math) exhibits. From robot dogs to virtual reality to energy displays – and everything in between.

Sponsors and exhibitors will be set up in the Pride Hanger.
