Ellsworth confirms their first case of COVID-19

ELLSWORTH AIR FORCE BASE, S.D. – Ellsworth Air Force Base announced its first case of COVID-19 this week.

In a Facebook post, the announcement indicates that the individual is a contractor who works on the installation, but has been teleworking and hasn’t been on base since April 30.

The patient and their family will remain in isolation until a negative test is confirmed. At that point, the individual will no longer considered be at risk.

The base is tracing anyone who has been in contact with the individual. Baseo fficials says anyone who has come in contact with the individual will be notified and will have to self-quarantine.
