Evelyn (Fjeldheim) Quenzer

Evelyn (Fjeldheim) Quenzer of Central City, SD joined her Heavenly Father, husband, Henry, fiancé John Kraft, family and friends peacefully at the age of 92 years, four months and nine day, on August 23rd, 2023.

Evelyn was born on the Fjeldheim Homestead 9 miles Northeast of Pollock, SD on April 14th, 1931. The 2nd of 11 children born to Andrew and Arlioune (Freeman) Fjeldheim. She attended Solomonson Rural School graduating in 1945. She was baptized, confirmed and married at the Spring Creek Lutheran Church. Evelyn & Henry Quenzer were married on November 10th 1949.

Evelyn was a wife and mother with family being her focus. Family was her biggest joy. She made being an Avon Representative in the Lead/Deadwood area a career for 53 years, with many Avon Albee Awards to show for her record sales. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 5969 for many years as well as a member of the Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in Lead. In her later years she spent Sunday Mornings with Pastor Salem and Dr. David Jeremiah. Her family will remember many of her pranks throughout life which she may have learned from her nine brothers. She loved many Saturday night dances at the Moose Lodge, Eagles and VFW. Among her hobbies she enjoyed were shopping, bingo, camping, fishing, boating, horseshoes, flower gardening, gambling and loved playing cards.

Evelyn is survived by her daughters Kathy (Ronnie) Pierce of Spearfish, Tamera (Kyle) Ehnes of Spearfish, sons Donald Quenzer of Central City, and Charles (Donna) Quenzer of Lead; ten grandchildren Mandy McFarland, Shane (Lacey) Pierce, Tanya (Stan) Pzinski, Jacob Quenzer, Jessica Quenzer, Nicole (Jake) Coons, Joshua (Melissa) Quenzer, Tyler (Abby) Ehnes, Karissa Ehnes and Austin Ehnes; 27 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandsons; brother Alvin (Bernadette) Fjeldheim Pollock, SD; sisters-in-law Rita and Holly Fjeldheim Herreid, SD, Phyllis and Cindy Fjeldheim Pollock, SD, and Ione Quenzer Lead, SD; and several cousins and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Henry in 1997; parents Andrew & Arlioune Fjledheim; sister Delores; brothers Kenneth, Shervin, James, Orland, Larry, Ernest, Earl, and Andrew Jr.; daughter-in-law Linda Quenzer; granddaughter Misti Puckett; great-grandson Gabriel Henry Ehnes; sisters-in-law Gladys and Judy Fjeldheim and fiancé John Kraft.

Memorial services will be at 11:00 am on Friday, September 8, 2023 at the Lead-Deadwood Memorial Chapel in Lead.
