Faith Stock Show includes parades, pony wild rides, livestock shows, rodeos

FAITH, SD – From air boat rides to plenty of arena action, there is a full slate of activities planned for the 112th Faith Stock Show and Rodeo.

Set for August 9-14 in Faith, ropers will be front and center Tues., Aug. 9 for the Dakota Championship Roping at 10:00a.m. followed by Ladies Breakaway (WPRA sanctioned), and Senior Men’s Breakaway and Calf Roping. A #7 and a #5 roping is also scheduled.

Stock Show exhibits  open Wednesday’s (Aug. 10) events followed by the FSS&R World Bucking Futurity at 10:00a.m.  The annual  “Riding For Pedro” High School Saddle Bronc competition gets underway at 5:00p.m., and the U.S. Open PRCA Xtreme Broncs Match begins at 7:00p.m.

For families and kids, Thurs., Aug. 11 is fun filled day at the Faith Stock Show.  Youngsters can enjoy Kids’ Day Horse events as well as bicycle activities and the Mutton Busting at 5:00p.m., followed by a crowd favorite, the Ranch Rodeo  at 6pm.

On Fri., Aug. 12, the Pen of Three Livestock Show begins at 8:00a.m. at Faith Livestock Auction.  For golfing enthusiasts, the Northshore Golf Tournament  gets underway at 8:30a.m. Exhibits are open to public beginning at 10a.m.

Then it’s the first SDRA & NRCA Rodeo performance  getting underway at  6:30p.m. The performance features a  Calf Scramble, Wild Pony Races, Pony Bareback Riding, and Ranch BroncRriding. The Faith Stock Show & Rodeo Queen will also be crowned at this performance.

Rodeo slack, another SDRA & NRCA Rodeo performance, Calf Scramble and Horse Races are all on Sat., Aug. 13. Back this year are the wildly popular Indian Relay Races with the first race on Saturday at 5:30p.m. A tractor pull and  FFA Goat Roping are also in the lineup.   “Patriotic”  is the theme for the parade that gets underway at 10am. This year’s Parade Marshalls are Mike and Dorothy Fisher.

Following the Parade there is a pie social at the Senior Citizens Center.  Exhibits are also open to the public following the parade..

The 112th Faith Stock Show & Rodeo wraps up on Sunday, August 14th with a full day of events.  Begin the day with breakfast at the Fireman’s Pancake Breakfast  and a cowboy worship service.

A repeat of the popular parade themed “Patriotic” gets underway at 10a.m.  Indian Relay Races Finals is set for 1:00p.m. The third performance of SDRA & NRCA rodeo that afternoon is at 2:00p.m. and includes an Old Original Wild Ride competition.
