FAITH, SD – The 112th Faith Stock Show & Rodeo gets underway Tues., Aug. 9 with a full slate of activities that run through Sun., Aug. 14. Ropings, exhibits, a FSS&R World Bucking Futurity and a PRCA Match Bronc Ride take up most of the first two days.
Long-time Faith Stock Show secretary Gnene Fordyce says it will be a full week of fun and excitement for all ages.
The world of bucking horse futurities sees some of the best bronc talent come into its own in futurities, where young horses are dummy bucked to give prospective buyers an idea as to whether they want the horse added to their string. The FSS&R World Bucking Futurity starts at 10a.m., Wed., Aug. 10th These futurities can establish PRCA world champion bucking stock, a number of which have come out of the futurity at the Faith Stock Show & Rodeo
The annual “Riding For Pedro” saddle bronc competition gets underway at 5pm, and the U.S. Open PRCA Xtreme Broncs Match begins at 7pm.
Bronc matches are popular around the country but the one in Faith is a barn burner, attracting top PRCA cowboys and stock, says producer Rory Lemmel, Spearfish.
