STURGIS, S.D. – The South Dakota Highway Patrol reports a 42-year-old man died Friday evening in a single-vehicle crash in Meade County.
Preliminary crash information indicates the driver of a 2004 GMC Envoy was northbound on Erickson Ranch Road when the vehicle left the roadway to the right entering the ditch.
The vehicle rolled, ejecting the driver who was not wearing a seatbelt. He suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The name of the person involved has not been released pending notification of family members.
The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
Additional agencies that responded to the crash include the Meade County Sheriff’s Office, Black Hawk Volunteer Fire Department, Piedmont Volunteer Fire Department and Rapid City Fire Department.
