GILLETTE, Wyo. – In northeast Wyoming, hot dry conditions continue crews make steady progress on suppression repair.
The newest fire, the Silver Spoon Fire north of Gillette, has burned an estimated 1,721 acres.
Firefighters patrolled the area Monday, to identify heat sources after conducting burn operations on Sunday night. Today, crews will scout critical holding points, secure the perimeter and begin mop-up.
The evacuation order for the Bitter Creek Road area in northern Campbell County continues today in response to the Silver Spoon Fire.
Elsewhere, the Flat Rock Fire at 52,421 acres us 78% contained. The Remington Fire, at 196,368 acres is 86% contained. The House Draw Dire at 175,547 acres is 94% contained and the Constitution Fire at 24,630 acres is 95% contained.
