RAPID VALLEY, S.D. — Fire crews in Rapid Valley responded to a structure fire in the 1000 block of Pennington Street just before 11:30 Sunday night.
When firefighters arrived, they found a free-burning fire in the interior and roof assembly of an attached garage. There was a moderate to heavy smoke condition.
Pennington County deputies discovered and reported the fire, and assisted the occupants of the home in getting out.
The fire was contained to the structure of origin, stopping the fire from spreading to nearby structures.
No injuries were reported from firefighters, civilians or animals.
