WALL, S.D. – Federal, State and Local resources responded to a fire burning north of Wall Tuesday afternoon.
Great Plains Fire Dispatch says the Duhamel 2 Fire is 23 miles north of Wall, SD, and as of last report is 90-percent contained. The most recent estimate on acreage is back down to a 1,000 after an initial estimate of 2,500 late last night.
The fire was reported at 3:43 p.m. Tuesday and broke out in temperatures of 105 to 107-degrees.
Numerous area fire crews helped battle the blaze, as did air tankers.
Cause of the fire was under investigation.
