STURGIS, S.D. – Fire crews were called to a wildland fire burning north of Sturgis, off Eden Road Friday afternoon.
Sturgis Fire crews were paged to the fire just after 11:00 a.m. Upon arrival, fire officials found the fire was burning in a mixture of timber and brush.

Firefighters from Vale and Whitewood were brought in, and wildland fire also sent in resources.
A helicopter made water drops on the fire as well.
The fire did threaten one home in the area.
There has been no word as of yet on a possible cause, and the fire was listed between 11 and 12 acres.
It is the second wildfire Sturgis and area fire crews have battled in as many days.
The Kirk Hill Fire, which started Wednesday, is 100-percent contained, although mop up operations were continuing today.
