PIEDMONT, S.D. – At 8:51pm last night (Sept 10th, 2024) Piedmont Fire Department and a first alarm was dispatched to the seventy- three hundred block of Carole Drive, in the Wonderland Homes Development for a reported structure fire.
There were reports of neighboring houses starting on fire as well, and a second alarm was requested.
Upon arrival, the first arriving units found a free burning fire in the main residence, and full involvement in the garage that had extended through the roof.
Fire did not extend into the neighboring structures, and the main fire stayed within the structure origin.
The fire was brought under control within 45 minutes of the first units arriving. One of the occupants was evaluated for minor smoke inhalation and minor burns, but was treated and released by the medical unit on scene.
No other injuries to firefighters or civilians were reported.
