SUNDANCE, Wyo. – Fire officials say the Ridge Fire, burning in Crook County, Wyoming, has been successfully contained at 282 acres.
Crook County Emergency Management says crews will continue working to strengthen containment lines and conduct thorough mop-up operations to ensure the fire is fully extinguished.
The fire began last week, but saw a flare up on Tuesday.
The fire was located about 9 miles southwest of Sundance.

SUNDANCE, Wyo. – A fire that started July 6 in Crook County, Wyoming came back to life Tuesday after initially being controlled.
The Ridge Fire has now grown to approximately 200 acres.
Yesterday, the fire spread rapidly according to Crook County Emergency Management, exhibiting some extreme behavior and spotting.
Several homes were being threatened by the fire.
Firefighters worked through the night to establish containment lines and secure the perimeter. However, fire officials say significant work remains to bring the fire back under control.
Resources assigned to the fire include 14 engines, 3 bulldozers, 2 helicopters, 4 air tankers and a hand crew.
The fire is located 9 miles southwest of Sundance.

Meanwhile, in South Dakota, several agencies responded to quickly knock down a wildland fire in the area of Anderson Road in Black Hawk Tuesday.
Agencies from Piedmont and Black Hawk were among those responding to quickly stop forward progress of that blaze.
There was no word on the number of acres burned.
