Fire near Bismarck Lake outside Custer is contained

CUSTER, S.D. – A fire that led to the evacuation of the Bismarck Lake Campground in Custer State Park has been contained.

The Bismarck Fire was reported early Friday morning about 4 miles west of Custer, near Bismarck Lake.

The fire was listed at 4.5 acres Friday, with local, state and federal resources responding.

The fire led to the evacuation of the Bismarck Lake Campground as well as Cam Bob Marshal. Those evacuations were lifted at 7:00 a.m. Friday.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.
