HERMOSA, S.D. -Fire crews in the Hermosa area knocked down a fast moving grass fire Friday.
The fire was reported just before noon Friday morning east of Highway 40. The fire burned approximately 193 acres.
Multiple fire agencies from different cities were dispatched to the scene.
Pennington County Fire Administrator Jerome Harvey says the challenge in putting out the fire was the muddy road conditions, which made it hard for the firefighters to get access to the fire.
No injuries to firefighters, civilians or animals were reported.
The cause of the fire was under investigation.
