RAPID CITY, S.D. – The Rapid Valley Volunteer Fire Department swiftly responded to a reported structure fire at Timber West Products that began just after 1 a.m.
Upon arrival, first responders encountered a fully engaged fire, marked by heavy flames and smoke emanating from a commercial structure. The fire had extended to nearby structures and infrastructure, prompting a three-alarm escalation.
Firefighters from a three-county area mobilized to the scene, contending with challenging conditions such as darkness and a limited water supply. Despite these obstacles, they effectively contained the fire. One firefighter sustained minor injuries during the operation.
Fortunately, no injuries to civilians or domestic animals were reported.
